Fall Break Part 2a

Day 2: Hodge Lodge

It started out a beautiful morning and ended up a beautiful evening! Jacob played with his new-found turtle friend, Mikey. There was major swing set action going on from the youngest boy cousins. Kendal burned more brush in the fire pit. Not to mention lots more rides on the golf car. Although, I'm pretty sure Jacob didn't get nearly as much driving time after his Uncle Kendal arrived!

More walks to the water meant more time to throw and skip rocks...

MawMaw was brave and got out spray paint and empty water bottles for a craft project. What she forgot to remind us was that the paint is permanent on clothing...let's just say 2 of the three kids still have spray paint on their clothes to remember the occasion. After the paint dries, the bottles are turned into fish and strung on mini light sets. Pretty cool, huh?

But, the major theme of the day was missions, secret tactical missions. We had four very brave men at the Hodge Lodge that could handle these types of situations with ease. There was word of hidden weapons around the lake that needed to be recovered. Commander K. Hodge drew up plans to scope out the area in the armored vehicle as his trusty men readied themselves with wooden weapons.

They returned unharmed. Their commander promised an evening mission to recover all weapons. A plan and new map had to be drawn up.

It was evening and time for the men to bravely face any enemy or danger to make this mission successful. The Commander had new weapons of his own for the men to use as to not be outgunned by "the bad guys". Commander K. Hodge and his First Lieutenant J.K. Mitchell carefully study the plans as Specialists C. Hodge and J.D. Mitchell prepared for attack. (I may have to edit their names later as the brave men are now sleeping and I cannot verify their ranks). It was time...
