Runaway

Had a little scare for a short time this evening. The guys were going to take our newest family member, Caesar, for a ride to the store. He took off through the front yard and across the street in a flash. Mind you, he has no collar or tag yet.

Emma and I were in her bedroom putting away 0-6 month clothing (and that was more unnerving than I thought it would be, to see those tiny clothes already having to be packed away). Jacob comes running in the house crying hysterically that Caesar ran away. He came in to get a flashlight since it was already dark. The three guys walked down the street calling him and looking while Emma and I got in the car to drive a little ways. On the next street over, which is a dead-end, I thought I saw movement. Sure enough, he was sniffing madly at the fence line in the alley. He ignored me the first few calls but seemed to finally understand and ran quickly to me.

Disaster averted. While they were out, the guys got a collar. A tag will be added ASAP!
